Gorgeous Birthday

This is another challenge card. Again, I am using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, but the colors are taken from the challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches. With the colors and layout already decided, the hardest part of this card was fussy-cutting the gorgeous birthday girl.

Supplies:
Stamps - Beautiful You (143637)
Ink -  Calypso Coral (Stampin' Write), Old Olive, Stazon Jet Black
Card Stock - Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Building a Cafe

This was a fun and interesting cafe to build. It's my first one, so it was a process of trial and error. Most of the errors were fixed when I tried something new. Before I even began I watched a couple of YouTube videos to give me an idea of what NOT to do. Watching those videos was very beneficial.

After putting everything together I decided the front needed a little texture so I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to add the vertical lines. I also added some Foam Adhesive Strip to the lower part of the awning to give it the extra little 3-D effect.

After completely finishing the card it was time to take a picture (or three). The first one below is the last one I took. I just love the way the lighting sets it off.

Supplies:
Stamps - Charming Cafe (146361)
Ink - Stazon Jet Black
Stampin' Write Markers - Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Smoky Slate
Card Stock - Whisper White
Accessories & Tools - Cafe Builder Framelits (145665), Foam Adhesive Strip, Simply Scored Scoring Tool

A Friend Like You

In a private Stampin' Up! group we have been challenged "to find a tool or stamp set in your craft room that you have NOT used in a while (or ever!)." Below is card I am submitting for this challenge. I actually started it before the challenge was posted, but I think it still counts. It is, after all, the first time I've used the Sliding Door Framelits.

Yes! The door actually slides back and forth.

Supplies:
Stamps - Barn Door (145865), Charming Cafe (146361)
Ink - Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Stazon Jet Black
Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Accessories - Foam Adhesive Strips, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Sliding Door Framelits (145662)

Normally, I don't list the adhesives, but for this card they are extremely important. To create this card I used direction I found at Tips & Tricks: Stampin' Up! Barn Door Card Kit.

Thinking of You

I took direction again from a couple of card challenge sites: Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. I don't think I would have come up with this layout and color combination if I hadn't checked out the challenges this week. This is one of those cards that evolved to what you see. Other than the chair, everything is different than what I had planned.

Supplies:
Stamp - Colorful Season (143726)
Ink - Peekaboo Peach
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White
Accessories - Rhinestones, Seasonal Layers Thinlits (143751)

Celebrate Beautiful You

I absolutely love this stamp set. With the three different images, the set can show so many moods. For this card I used the woman dancing (on the beach). She doesn't have a care in the world and just wants to dance.

This is my first eclipse style card and I am very happy with how it turned out.

Supplies:
Stamps - Beautiful You (143637), High Tide (143006)
Ink - Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Stazon Jet Black
Card Stock - Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Accessories - Large Letter Framelits (141712)

Pigs Do Fly!

My plan when I got home today was to make a card. I had set aside my Charming Cafe and Hanging Garden stamps. I was ready to go. Then. . . nothing happened. Two nights ago I had it all figured out - tonight, nothing. What's a stamper to do?

Go back to the drawing board. Or, in this case, the sketch and color combination challenge boards. I've been having a "design block" lately, and using challenges is a great way to get ideas. I don't need to come up with a design or the colors to use. I just needed to figure out what stamp(s) to use. I decided to put my two stamp sets away (for now) and play with something new.

What do you do when the creative juices are just a trickle?

Supplies:
Stamps - This Little Piggy (143922)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin' Blends - Pink Pirouette (light & dark)
Card Stock - Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Accessories - Circles Collection Framelits (130911), Decorative Dots embossing folder (ret.)

Right now, these are my Go To challenge locations:

Just Breathe

Just saying, "Just Breathe" makes me relax. I created the hills using torn paper and a brayer. I ran Elegant Eggplant card stock through my Xyron Create-a-Sticker before running it through my BigShot with the Adirondack die from Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

Supplies:
Stamp - Colorful Seasons (143726)
Ink - Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Stazon Jet Black
Card Stock - Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessory - Seasonal Layers Thinlits (143751)

I made this card for a couple of card challenges:
