Lovely Oak

I believe that most of us have a difficult time creating masculine cards. I am no exception. Usually, when making a "man" card, I look toward nature, not tools. Per usual, I made this masculine card with a nature theme. The colors are inspired by the Color Throwdown challenge (although I was too late), and (this is perfect) Addicted to CAS has a masculine theme of "It's Raining Men."
Supplies: Stamp - Lovely As A Tree; Paper - Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla; Ink - Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Soft Suede; Ribbon - Natural Trim.

I used torn sticky notes and a brayer for the grass and sky, then after I distressed the edges I used a dauber with Soft Suede around the edges and across the grass area. Although it's hard to tell, I also pierced the upper left corner of the Cajun Craze paper.

If The Shoe Fits

At first, I wasn't sure about this stamp. However, after playing with it, I'm hooked. This is just my first play date with it and I did learn a few things. One, it's fairly easy to cut out; two, when using Crystal Effects, the colors are less vibrant (at least on this card); three, it can be as mono-chrome or colorful as I want to make it; four, it loves to be embellished.
Supplies: Stamp - Fabulous You; Paper - Lucky Limeade, River Rock, Very Vanilla; Ink - Basic Black and all the In Colors 2011-13 (Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Wisteria Wonder); Embossing Folder - Vintage Wallpaper; Ribbon - Lucky Limeade Organdy (ret.), Ruffled Calypso Coral; Jewels - Rhinestones; I also used Crystal Effects on the flowers and butterflies.

Everyone can use a little boost of confidence occasionally. That's what I love about this stamp. I always think about my daughter when I read the message, because she accomplishes whatever she sets her mind to. I chose the colors based on the color challenge at Just Add Ink.

Fabulous Style

A friend asked me about a card I made a while back, that had a hummingbird on it. I created this one in hopes it is similar to the one she remembers. If not, that's okay too, because it will give me an excuse to make another.
Supplies: Stamps - Elements of Style, Fabulous Florets; Paper - Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Print Poetry DSP; Ink - Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo; Punch - Scallop Trim; Ribbon - Island Indigo 1/4" Satin; Embossing Powder - Clear; Jewels - Pearls and Rhinestone

Soft and Bright

This is a fun combination of colors, which I found at Stampin' Royalty. The stamp set I used is usually two parts (stamp the outline, then stamp the color fill). However, what I did was stamp and emboss the outline of the flowers, then I colored them with Stampin' Write markers.
Supplies: Stamps - Simply Soft; Paper - Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White; Ink - Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise; Embossing Powder - Clear

Let's Go Fly A Kite

This is just a simple and easy card to put together. I haven't played with this stamp set in a while and decided to bring it out for the color challenge at The Paper Players. For the clouds I punched out 2-3/8" scallop circle and daubed around it. For the kite string I simply used marker and a ruler.
Supplies: Stamps - Send me Soaring, Inspired by Nature (ret.); Paper - Whisper White; Ink - Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit for the kits; Basic Gray for the kite strings, Old Olive for the grass and Pool Party for the sky,

Hearts A'Flutter

I cannot believe it has been a whole week since I last posted. I have been fighting a cold and my energy level was totally sapped. I'm feeling better and so happy to be posting again.

Once again, I created this card utilizing inspiration from various challenges. The challenges are: Addicted to Stamps and More! (must use marker(s) on my project); Color Throwdown (color combination); Stampin' Royalty (love or Valentine theme); and Just Add Ink (just add hearts!). Wow, four challenges this time!

Now, you may be looking at my card and wondering where I used markers. I had to be a bit creative on this one. Color Throwdown required the colors I use to be Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I have no Pink Pirouette paper (must order). Therefore, I used my Whisper White Organza ribbon and colored it with my Pink Pirouette marker. I hope it counts.
Supplies: Stamp - Pursuit of Happiness; Paper - Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla; Ink - Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red; Punch - Full Heart; Ribbon - Whisper White Organza; Embossing Folder - Elegant Lines

Layered Blossom

It's official, I'm addicted to challenges. I've know for a while now that I'm addicted to stamping and making cards, but I can now admit, I'm also addicted to challenges. I have discovered that when I need inspiration, but don't want to CASE another card, I can simply combine challenges and create my very own card. This card is a combination of challenges from Addicted to Stamps and More! (sketch), Color Throwdown (color combination), and Stampin' Royalty (theme).

The flowers and leaves were all cut by hand (fussy cutting). It might seem like a bit much, but I find it therapeutic. It can be relaxing to sit and trim a flower while deciding how everything will go together.
Supplies: Stamps - Stippled Blossoms, Layered Labels; Paper - Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Whisper White; Ink - Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Punch - Lace Ribbon; Framelits - Apothecary Accents; Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots; Jewels - Rhinestones
