Thank U, Grunge Style

Last weekend, I had several friends and family help me make 100 cards for Operation Write Home! Most of my friends were from the church I attend. The purpose of bringing everyone together to make the cards was three-fold:

First, I wanted to send LOTS of cards to Operation Write Home. Now, I could have done this by myself, and I have, but this brings me to my second purpose. . .

Second, I wanted to share my passion for making cards and my desire to make cards for Operation Write Home, with my friends.

Third, I'm not very comfortable throwing parties, so this was a fantastic excuse to bring family and friends together, make some cards, and just enjoy each other's company. I was fortunate that I was able to hold the event at my church.

Because I did have so many family and friends helping me, I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate them. This is one of the cards I will be sending to family and friends, letting them know how thankful I am that they allowed me to share my passions with them.

Stamps - A Round Array, Clockworks, Gorgeous Grunge, Label Love
Card Stock - Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Ink - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade

I wanted to work on something other than a Christmas card. I like making Christmas cards, but I needed to take a step back to boost my creativity so I could come up with fresh ideas for more Christmas cards! (I hope it works.)

This is the first time I've used this stamp set, and I'm really happy with the outcome. I decided to add dimensionals to give it a little something extra. Because the butterfly has those thin legs and antenna, I stamped it twice. Once was directly to the card and the other I stamped, colored and cut out.
Stamps - A Round Array, Nature Walk
Card Stock - Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla
DSP - Gingham Garden
Ink - Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon - Lucky Limeade Ruffled
Embossing Powder - Clear
Punches - 7/8" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle

Secret Garden

Have you ever been so busy you don't have time to play with your stamps? Of course, then it's all I can think about. Then, when I have an opportunity to sit and play . . . NOTHING! I have new stamps, new colors, and just can't figure out where to start.

If you ever are in a creative block, there are plenty of places to get inspiration. One way is to cruise around other paper-crafting blogs; another is to visit Pinterest. Of course, for me, Pinterest seems to create more delays, because I see cards and food and crochet patterns and garden ideas. . . you get the idea. So, another great place for inspiration is to check out some of the challenge sites. This week I pulled my inspiration from Color Throwdown.

Supplies: Stamps - A Round Array, Label Love, Secret Garden; Paper - Daffodil Delight, Temping Turquoise, Whisper White; Ink - Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise; Accessories - 3/16" Daffodil Delight brads, Artisan Label punch, Lucky Limeade Ruffled ribbon

Mad for Flowers

I've been on vacation for just over a week, and have been itching to create. I previously made a card similar to this one, but have since sent it to a special someone. Therefore, I wanted to have something similar available. Since it does take a bit of time (due to heat embossing on the vellum jar and cutting flowers and leaves), I like to have a spare, just in case.
Supplies: Stamps - A Round Array, Mosaic Madness, Papaya Collage, Perfectly Preserved; Paper - Pistachio Pudding, Vellum, Whisper White; Ink - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gumball Green, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Summer Starfruit; Accessories - Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Trim Punch
