Summer Birthday

I found this layout design on Pinterest quite a while back. I finally sat down to create my version. Since we still don't seem to be getting a winter, again, this year, my mind seems to be wondering towards summer. Typically, I am not a snow person, but we really need some of that white stuff. When I should be looking at several feet of snow, I'm looking at bare ground.

Torn Silhouettes

Here are a couple of cards with the same layout, but different looks. I used torn paper to mask either side of the sponged areas, then stamped the image on top.

Warmest Birthday Wishes

I found this card on Pinterest and fell in love with the design, and was inspired to create my own. The torn masking seems to add to a watercolor effect.

Blooming Sentiment

A lot of the pieces of this card are retired, but the colors are a bright, cheery combination. Don't you think?

This is another card for Operation Write Home - adding to my box. My plan is to send at least 100 cards before the end of the year!

Flowering Birthday Wishes

I saw this style of sponging at Bits & Pieces. She did a wonderful job of blending the colors (I need to work on my technique a bit more). However, I am pleased with the results.

Kindness Matters

I've accepted a couple of challenges this week. One challenge is from Color Throwdown, which is to utilize the colors in this card. The other is more of a personal challenge which will require me to give one of my cards as a Random Act of Kindness (RAK). The idea is to give the card to a complete stranger, just to let them know they are appreciated. I've decided this will be a card I carry with me until I give it to someone. I'll let you know the results.

Warmest Birthday Wishes

As I previously posted, I am following the color challenge going on at The Paper Players. I've utilized their color selection to make my cards this week. Although I'm using the same colors for each card, that is the only common thread.

This is my third card:

Warmest Birthday Wishes!

I've got a friend and niece whose birthdays are this month. This is one of the cards I made to send. Unfortunately, the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the ribbon are retired. However, the layout is one of my favorites. For the frame around the sentiment, I cut the shape with the Apothecary Accents, then cut them in half lengthwise.

Supplies: Stamps - Blooming with Kindness; Paper - Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, and Everyday Enchantment DSP (ret.); Ink - Island Indigo; Framelits - Apothecary Accents; Ribbon - Calypso Coral Everyday Enchantment Organdy (ret.); Punch - Ribbon Border; Jewels - Pearls (Can you find all the pearls? There are four of them.)
