Painted Blooms

This was just a scrap of DSP, leftover from another card I made. I knew it would be the right backdrop for the butterfly made from Butterflies Thinlits. The sentiment at the bottom is from a retired stamp set, but was perfect for this card.

The matting layers are 3-1/2" x 4-3/8" and 3-3/8" x 4-1/4"; and the DSP is 3-3/16" x 4".
Supplies:
Stamp - Fabulous Florets (ret.)
Cardstock - Blackberry Bliss (133675), Wild Wasabi (108641), Whisper White (100730)
DSP - Painted Blooms (137784)
Ink - Blackberry Bliss (133642)
Accessories - Butterflies Thinlits (137360), Rhinestones (119246)

First Box Card

This is my first attempt making a "Box Card." Making the actual box, is the easy part. (There are lots of tutorials for various sizes.) For me, the challenge was dressing it up. Since this is my first one, I used some retired DSP. I do plan to make more of these, because they are fun to make. However, because there are so many elements, they do take a bit longer than your basic card. (Duh!)
For more ideas on making your own box card, you can run a search on SplitCoastStampers or Pinterest.

Final Batch

Happy New Year!

Here are four of the final six cards (if I've counted correctly) to be sent with my batch of 100 cards to Operation Write Home. I was hoping to have them sent before the end of the year. Although I'm just now posting them, I did complete them before the end of the year, but they still need to be shipped.

Supplies:
MDS Stamps - Fabulous Florets
Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry
Embossing Folders - Flower Garden, Square Lattice

(The flowers were cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.)

Fabulous Four

Below are four more cards for Operation Write Home. Now, these might look like there was a lot of fussy cutting involved, but there wasn't (at least for me). I used my new toy, my Silhouette Cameo. After setting things up with MDS, I transferred the files to the Silhouette program. I'm really excited because it's working the way I was hoping!

Laughing Flowers in Strawberry & Brown Sugar

I've been pretty busy this week, and haven't had much time to play in my room. Because I'll be leaving in a few minutes to go to my golf clinic (so much fun), I decided to come home a little early from work so I could create.

I pulled out this DSP last night, and knew I wanted to use it, but wasn't sure how it was going to go together. I like the color combination so much, I might just need to make a set of cards with the combination.

Supplies: Stamps - Fabulous Florets; Paper - Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush DSP; Ink - Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush; Jewels - Pearls inked with Strawberry Slush, Rhinestones

Delightful Fabulous Flowers

Today, when I got home from work, I just felt the need to create a card. This is what I came up with. I saw the layout for this card at Judi's Cuties. It's such a simple layout and so striking - don't you think? When cards catch my eye it's usually the layout or the color combination. (Every once in a while it's a new technique.)

Fabulous Medley

Another easy card. I love this flower from Fabulous Florets. It is so easy to hand cut, it doesn't even seem like "fussy cutting."
Supplies: Stamps - Fabulous Florets; Paper - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP; Eyelet Border punch, Pearls

Fabulous Flowers and Lattice

I saw a card recently created by Stamping & Scrapping with Deb Valder. I really liked her idea of placing the lattice behind the Window Frame cut-out. After putting this one together, my husband decided it would be a great card to give to some friends of ours who are getting married at the end of the month.

I really like the way this card turned out, but it truly was challenging to put together. Because I didn't want the lattice overlap to be visible on the inside of the card, I placed a second sheet of card stock on the inside (attached to the back of the front), which I then die-cut the two pieces at the same time. Then I slid the corners of the lattice piece between the two sheets.

Fabulous Style

A friend asked me about a card I made a while back, that had a hummingbird on it. I created this one in hopes it is similar to the one she remembers. If not, that's okay too, because it will give me an excuse to make another.
