Fancy Fan Butterflies

Playing with the 2013-2015 In Colors. A while back I had made a similar card with Baked Brown Sugar. This time, I'm using the other four colors. These are an easy set of cards to create in bulk (just four in this case).

Supplies:
Card Stock - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush
DSP - Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush
Embossing Folder - Fancy Fan
Punches - Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
Thinlit - Secret Garden
Jewels - Pearls, Rhinestones

Silhouettes and Fans

I was inspired by Dynamic Duos' color challenge this week with So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding. However, the final results were not what I had originally intended. First, I started with the shoe from Fabulous You. Ummmm, that didn't look how I had intended. Next, I played with Papillion Collage. Still, not what I was envisioning. Finally, I tried Summer Silhouettes. Still, I had to play around with it a bit before I got the result I was happy with.

This just goes to show that, if you keep working an idea, eventually something will come together. Just don't give up.
Supplies:

  • Stamps - Summer Silhouettes
  • Cardstock- Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Whisper White
  • DSP - Pistachio Pudding
  • Ink - Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron
  • Ribbon - So Saffron Grosgrain (ret.)
  • Embossing Folder - Fancy Fan
  • Brads - 1/8" Mini Brads

One Sheet Wonder - Day #12

Almost complete. Although it might look like the blue with the DSP should be a flap, it is not. This does give me ideas for a future card fold.
I used the Adorning Edgelits to cut the inverted arched shape and the Fancy Fan embossing folder on the Cajun Craze layer. I never used to remember to use embossing folders, but have discovered that when a card just needs a little bit more, the embossing folders really help out. The bow, of course was created using the great bow-making tutorial found at youtube.com/watch?v=M2S69Sxz0KQ.

Remember to check back tomorrow for my final One Sheet Wonder card!
