She Believed

My daughter is an EMT and working towards becoming a paramedic. She is in a program at a local college which is a bridge program to help EMTs become paramedics. There are three levels to the program, and she just completed the first level! Upon completion of the third and final level, she will be guaranteed a spot in the paramedic program. She was one of seven, from a group of 200, who completed the first level.

There was a special pinning ceremony, and her dad had the honor of placing the pin on her. To say we are proud of our daughter is an understatement! We know that she can accomplish whatever she puts her mind to. She's proven it!!!

This is the card I made to give her that evening:
Stamps - Feel Goods, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock - Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink - Elegant Eggplant

What is Negative Space? (Day 1)

I discovered some cards at Beth's Paper Cuts and really liked the way they looked. The technique is called "negative space," and is created by punching out a shape from cardstock and placing a contrasting piece of colored paper underneath the cardstock.

You might notice the coordinating envelope behind the card. I created it by following the instructions I found at Too Cool Stamping. She provides easy-to-follow instructions using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Soon I plan to order the Envelope Punch Board (see below), but in the mean time, this method works very well.

My next few posts, over a few days, I will show different designs. I hope you enjoy the different punches and DSP I used for the cards.

Day 1 - Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.
Stamps - Feel Goods
Cardstock - Whisper White
DSP - Crisp Cantaloupe
Ink - Crisp Cantaloupe
Punch - Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
