She Believed

My daughter is an EMT and working towards becoming a paramedic. She is in a program at a local college which is a bridge program to help EMTs become paramedics. There are three levels to the program, and she just completed the first level! Upon completion of the third and final level, she will be guaranteed a spot in the paramedic program. She was one of seven, from a group of 200, who completed the first level.

There was a special pinning ceremony, and her dad had the honor of placing the pin on her. To say we are proud of our daughter is an understatement! We know that she can accomplish whatever she puts her mind to. She's proven it!!!

This is the card I made to give her that evening:
Stamps - Feel Goods, Gorgeous Grunge

The house is still under construction, but we are staying here for a few days. So, of course, I am taking advantage. Have I said how much I really like the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set? It's perfect for making cards that have that "not too feminine" look, which is what I was going for when I made this set of cards.

Butterfly Grunge

Construction is still going on, but I managed to sneak in some time to make these cards. I was inspired by some cards made by my Stampin' Up! upline's, upline. I've used four of the five new In Colors and am quite pleased with the way they turned out.

Thank U, Grunge Style

Last weekend, I had several friends and family help me make 100 cards for Operation Write Home! Most of my friends were from the church I attend. The purpose of bringing everyone together to make the cards was three-fold:

First, I wanted to send LOTS of cards to Operation Write Home. Now, I could have done this by myself, and I have, but this brings me to my second purpose. . .

Second, I wanted to share my passion for making cards and my desire to make cards for Operation Write Home, with my friends.

Third, I'm not very comfortable throwing parties, so this was a fantastic excuse to bring family and friends together, make some cards, and just enjoy each other's company. I was fortunate that I was able to hold the event at my church.

Because I did have so many family and friends helping me, I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate them. This is one of the cards I will be sending to family and friends, letting them know how thankful I am that they allowed me to share my passions with them.

Stamps - A Round Array, Clockworks, Gorgeous Grunge, Label Love
Card Stock - Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Ink - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
