Fluttering Banners

Operation Write Home has a challenge this week using banners. I might have gotten a little carried away with the number and sizes, but the stamp sets, punch and framelits, make it a quick card to put together. Oh, and don't be afraid to use a little color!

Supplies:
Stamps - Banner Blast, Hearts a Flutter
Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo
Accessories - Banner punch, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Island Indigo Satin ribbon

Mosaic Medley

This is a "No Brainer" card for the SplitCoastStampers Creative Crew Stampin' Up! Demonstrators' February Challenge. Just looking at it, it does look like a simple, "no brainer" design, and I'm really happy with the results. So why did I struggle putting it together?

If I were to re-create this card, it would be a no brainer, because I can now see all the elements. The struggle comes from pulling the elements together, not the actual layout. When I struggle with elements, I don't actually glue anything down immediately. For this card, the final pieces that pulled the design together were the "framing" of the elements (the Very Vanilla under the Basic Black, the Basic Black under the Cherry Cobber, and the Cherry Cobbler ribbon under the Crumb Cake ribbon). Yep, those were the elements I needed to pull it all together.
Supplies:
Stamps - Mosaic Madness
Card Stock - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Cherry Cobbler
Accessories - Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake ribbon; Mosaic punch; Adorning Accents embossing folder; Rhinestones

Here are four of the final six cards (if I've counted correctly) to be sent with my batch of 100 cards to Operation Write Home. I was hoping to have them sent before the end of the year. Although I'm just now posting them, I did complete them before the end of the year, but they still need to be shipped.

Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry
Embossing Folders - Flower Garden, Square Lattice

(The flowers were cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.)

Nothing But Time

Wouldn't it be nice to have nothing but time to do whatever we want? Time can be a good thing. I really like having time to do the things I want. I've enjoyed having the time to work on these cards. It's the first time I've used this stamp set, and it's been fun to play with. It's kind of fun seeing how just changing the colors, can change the mood of the card.

Supplies:
Stamps - Clockworks
Card Stock - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gumball Green, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gumball Green, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Pistachio Pudding

Timeless Birthday Wishes

As I sat looking at the Modern Medley DSP with the music notes, I knew I just had to use the Timeless Talk gramma phone! The card practically made itself.

Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Basic Black
Embellishments - Basic Black Candy Dots
Embossing Powder - Clear

Serene Medley

I've been working with a lot of winter scenes and needed to make a switch. Don't worry, I will be making more winter scenes. For now, though, I thought I would try something a little different. I really like the way it turned out.
Supplies:
Stamps - Serene Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Basic Black
Punches - Modern Label, Word Window
Jewels - Pearls
Embossing Powder - Clear

I have discovered that, because the Basic Black ink tends to take a bit longer to dry, if I add clear embossing powder I no longer smudge the ink. Since I started doing this, I have cut my smudging down to nothing!

Fabulous Medley

Another easy card. I love this flower from Fabulous Florets. It is so easy to hand cut, it doesn't even seem like "fussy cutting."
Supplies: Stamps - Fabulous Florets; Paper - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP; Eyelet Border punch, Pearls

Medley of Flowers

Isn't this pretty? I saw a similar one at Splitcoaststampers, using non-Stampin' Up! products. So, of course, I did my best to create one using my SU! supplies. I really like the bright color contrast to the black and vanilla.
Supplies: Paper - Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, and Modern Medley DSP; Brads - coordinating colors; Punches - 7/8" Scallop Circle, Bird Builder.
