You're the Friend

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Between having a mega-cold, going on a fun vacation, then getting another mega-cold (yep, two times), I haven't made the time to upload anything. I have been making cards, but slacking on the upload.

Getting back into the swing of things, I'm posting this card I made for a wonderful, giving woman, and friend. She is truly going above and beyond, unselfishly, helping someone else in need.

I found the box design at addINKtive designs.

This is my 14th and final card made from one sheet of Sweet Sorbet DSP. I have had a lot of fun coming up with all the various layouts. In case you missed it, you can find the One-Sheet-Wonder template I used for this project at Quietfire Creations.

Papillon Sorbet

Sometimes, making a card is a process. I started out with two little strips of DSP, then I added the cardstock. Of course, I then realized the cardstock needed some dimension. From that point I used my Simply Scored and the Diagonal Plate, and a piece of ribbon.

I really wanted to include a sentiment on the front, but it was not to be. Instead, I opted for butterflies and flowers. Layering the stamped butterflies on top of the punched cardstock, just adds a bit more definition. From there I just added some "bling" and my card is complete.

Slowly, very slowly, I am beginning to learn that the process sometimes takes a bit more time.

Lovely Petals

I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) this card from Rosalien's Creations. This is one of the cards I am planning for the participants to create at an upcoming workshop I'm hosting in April. I will be holding the card party at my church, and the cards we create will be sent to Operation Write Home. This is my first workshop, so I'm both nervous and excited.

Boho Blossoms and Butterflies

Back from my camping trip (one day early). The camp ground had water issues the last couple of days, so we decided it was time to come home. Any way, although I didn't get to create anything while I was camping, I did get to cruise around and check out others' creations. This card is based on one created by Michelle Langefeld of Roses of Pink. Thanks Michelle!

Fabulous Flowers and Lattice

I saw a card recently created by Stamping & Scrapping with Deb Valder. I really liked her idea of placing the lattice behind the Window Frame cut-out. After putting this one together, my husband decided it would be a great card to give to some friends of ours who are getting married at the end of the month.

I really like the way this card turned out, but it truly was challenging to put together. Because I didn't want the lattice overlap to be visible on the inside of the card, I placed a second sheet of card stock on the inside (attached to the back of the front), which I then die-cut the two pieces at the same time. Then I slid the corners of the lattice piece between the two sheets.

Papillon Collage

I haven't made an easel card in a long time, so I decided today was the day. The layout for this card just screamed that it be able to stand on its own. The colors are from the Dynamic Duos challenge this week, "A Breath of Spring with Yellow and Green." The cute "hello" tag and coordinating punch is from the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalog available for just a limited time.

Quad Time Butterflies

I saw this technique (Quadruple Time Stamping) a few weeks ago and finally sat down to try my hand at it. Because this is my first attempt, I decided to keep it simple. Like the Triple Time technique, it's super simple.

After you try this technique yourself, please send me a link. I'd love to see your take on this style.
