Happy Watercolor

You might have seen on my previous post that my house is under construction. Fortunately, I did not need to pack up my "play room." Unfortunately, I'm not staying at my house right now -- no kitchen, living or dining rooms.

Since I do still have limited down time, I have a need to create something! Yay for MDS! It does take me a bit longer to create a card, but I will be able to print out several of them and use them in the future. I'll even be able to take a basic card and embellish it, or "step it up."

I made this one utilizing the sketch challenge from Operation Write Home.

MDS Supplies:
Stamps - Happy Watercolor
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Colors - Basic Black, Gumball Green, Pacific Point, Whisper White

Just a Tree?

Holiday Focus: Choose one of the following, show a card, an ensemble, an SB page, or a decor item!

  • Earth Day: Earth Day is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.
  • Historic Garden Week
  • Easter
  • National Egg Salad Week
  • Go Fly a Kite Day is the third Sunday In April.
Obviously, I chose Earth Day! However, had I "read all of the instructions" prior to starting, I might have chosen a different theme. Although, this challenge did provide the perfect opportunity to use the Look Up To Father stamp.

Stamps - Look Up To Father
Card Stock - Gumball Green, Whisper White
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Ink - Early Espresso, Gumball Green
Accessories -  Early Espresso Quilted Satin Ribbon, Ribbon Slide

Happy Summer Watercolor

I created this card as part of the Creative Crew at SplitCoastStampers. Each month, they have four different challenges. This challenge was "DSP/Color Focus: Watercolor Wonder DSP or the colors of Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, & Tangerine Tango."

Love this DSP! The bright colors always put a smile on my face.

Stamps - Happy Watercolor, Summer Silhouettes
Card Stock - Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Ink - Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango
Accessories - Pearls

Butterflies and Brocade

Lots of family "stuff" going on, so I haven't had any time to play. I got home from work a bit early and had some "Me" time, so I allowed myself some much-deserved play time. I just started pulling out some paper and messing around with embossing folders, and this is what I came up with.

Hopefully, I'll have a few minutes next week to play again (cross your fingers).
Card Stock - Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Embossing Folders - Lacy Brocade, Stripes (on the Tangerine Tango)
Punches - Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
Jewels - Rhinestones

Watercolor Field Flowers

I had fun making this set of five cards on Christmas morning. (The husband was working and the daughter hadn't arrived yet.) The perfect opportunity to play and not feel guilty. See all those flowers, stems and leaves? They were all cut with the Silhouette. My color choices came from the colors used in the Watercolor Wonder DSP. Aren't they a beautiful combination?

Along with the Watercolor Wonder DSP, I used:
Stamps - Field Flowers, Upsy Daisy
Paper - Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzaz, Whisper White
Ink - Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Punches - Decorative Label, Lace Ribbon, Modern Label, Word Window
Embossing Folders - Perfect Polka Dots, Square Lattice

Christmas Card Repeat

Things have been a little hectic in my life (or should I say my daughter's life) these last few days, so I haven't had the opportunity to play and create. Below is a Christmas card I created last year. It's a simple card to create, and easy to make a lot to send to friends and family.

Clean and Simple Tree

I think this is a first for me. I made a card that can be entered into three different challenges. The challenge blogs are The Paper Players, Addicted to Stamps and More, and Black Tie Friday. The Paper Players' challenge is a sketch; Addicted to Stamps and More has a clean and simple challenge; and Black Tie Friday's challenge needs to have "black" in it, but no patterned paper. I put all these instructions together and came up with this:
Supplies: Stamps - Lovely As A Tree, Watercolor Winter; Paper - Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla; Ink - Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder; Ribbon - Basic Black Taffeta

Country Pines

I needed to make a couple of "masculine" cards for November birthdays. I decided I wanted to use the truck from the Countryside stamp set. Of course, the Lovely As A Tree stamp set works really well with the truck. Then, I went searching for inspiration. Fortunately, I found Lisa Hensley's "Countryside 3 copy" card posted on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site. I did a little masking with the truck and the pine tree in front, to give it a little depth.

This is one of the two cards I created (the second is almost identical):
Supplies: Stamps: Countryside and Lovely As A Tree; Paper: Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock and Orchard Harvest DSP; Ink: Always Avocado , Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, and River Rock; Watercolor Wonder - Pacific Point and Real Red; Ribbon - Crumb Cake Taffeta; Embossing Folder - Woodgrain; Embossing Powder - Clear
