Get Well

I made this card to send to a male, family member who will be having surgery this week. I got the idea from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I just loved the way she used the Woodgrain embossing folder to give the appearance of a rippling pond.

Lovely Tree

I wanted to make a card for a family friend who shattered his arm near his shoulder (yes, I said shattered). He had surgery and is recuperating but it will be about a year for full recovery. Isn't this a great, masculine card? I totally CASEd this card from a card I found at Stamp Up Your Craft. Aileen shares how she was inspired to create this card after traveling through Scottland. I had tried my hand at brayering previously, but this one convinced me to try it again. I'm so glad I did.
Supplies: Stamp - Lovely As A Tree; Paper - Always Artichoke, Early Espresso Core'dinations, Very Vanilla; Ink - Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder; Embossing Folder - Woodgrain

Eagle In Wilderness

One of my nephews' birthdays is right around the corner. He is a wonderful young man, a husband and a Marine. Unfortunately, he lives quite a ways away, so I haven't seen him in a while. This is the card I made to send him for his special day.

Country Pines

I needed to make a couple of "masculine" cards for November birthdays. I decided I wanted to use the truck from the Countryside stamp set. Of course, the Lovely As A Tree stamp set works really well with the truck. Then, I went searching for inspiration. Fortunately, I found Lisa Hensley's "Countryside 3 copy" card posted on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site. I did a little masking with the truck and the pine tree in front, to give it a little depth.

This is one of the two cards I created (the second is almost identical):
Supplies: Stamps: Countryside and Lovely As A Tree; Paper: Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock and Orchard Harvest DSP; Ink: Always Avocado , Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, and River Rock; Watercolor Wonder - Pacific Point and Real Red; Ribbon - Crumb Cake Taffeta; Embossing Folder - Woodgrain; Embossing Powder - Clear
