Best Friend

I was able to sneak in one card before I head out for a week. I found the sketch at Operation Write Home, for inspiration. Already knowing what my layout is going to look like, it makes it easier to decide on a paper selection.

Supplies:
Stamps - Label Love
Card Stock - Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Whisper White
DSP - Quatrefancy
Ink - Island Indigo
Brads - Circle (ret.)

Butterflies and Brocade

Lots of family "stuff" going on, so I haven't had any time to play. I got home from work a bit early and had some "Me" time, so I allowed myself some much-deserved play time. I just started pulling out some paper and messing around with embossing folders, and this is what I came up with.

Hopefully, I'll have a few minutes next week to play again (cross your fingers).
Supplies:
Card Stock - Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Embossing Folders - Lacy Brocade, Stripes (on the Tangerine Tango)
Punches - Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
Jewels - Rhinestones

CAS Silhouette

I found my inspiration on Pinterest and followed the link to SplitCoastStampers. Although my inspiration was posted over three years ago, you can see that the Clean And Simple layout can be timeless. This is one of the cards I'll be making at an upcoming workshop. Although the supplies (Stamp, DSP and Ink) are all retired, we can still use it to make wonderful cards for Operation Write Home.

Supplies:
Stamps - Pocket Silhouette (ret.)
Card Stock - Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade (ret.), Very Vanilla
DSP - Orchard Harvest
Ink - Lucky Limeade (ret.)

Picnic Strips

For whatever reason, I always struggle with cards that have coordinating strips of paper. Although I'm pleased with the results, this card was no exception. Even though I select coordinating paper, it seems to take longer than it should for me to get them to work together.

This card is based on a sketch from Operation Write Home. If you're like me and also find this type of layout challenging, you might want to push yourself, just a bit, to see what you come up with.

Supplies:
Card Stock - Very Vanilla
DSP - Afternoon Picnic
Ribbon - Pear Pizzazz Taffeta, Pool Party 1/4" Satin

Mocha Morning Thank You

I do have fun using up some of my old, retired DSP. This is a sample card for an upcoming workshop. All of the cards we make will be sent to Operation Write Home. I am very excited about introducing friends to Stampin' Up! and Operation Write Home. Because some of the participants have never made cards, I want to make sure they have fun learning this craft that I love.

Supplies:
Stamp - Perfectly Penned
Card Stock - Basic Black, Crumb Cake
DSP- Mocha Morning (ret.)
Ink - StazOn

March Birthday

I love the way this DSP and the stamps work together. The layout is from Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge #213. The color selection and theme is from this month's Creative Crew challenge at SplitCoastStampers. We needed to make a birthday card using green or purple. As you can see, I chose to use both colors.
Supplies:
Stamps - Clockworks, Label Love
Card Stock - Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder
DSP - Afternoon Picnic
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder
Punch - Artisan Label
